A message from Jane:
Following the great success of the
Knitted Garden, we were approached by Aardman Animations
to work with them on a brand new knitting project, ‘Shaun
the Sheep’s PicKnit Challenge’.
Shaun the Sheep loves the
countryside and he’s calling on his
friends to create a life-sized knitted picnic out of his favourite
material – wool!
Everything in the PicKnit will be knitted, from
woolly sandwiches and cakes, down to picnic chair, hampers and
rugs.
So whether you’ve been knitting
for years or want to try a new hobby, pick up some needles
and take part in this exciting new project.
All techniques and
abilities are welcome in creating Shaun’s
knitted PicKnit. You can use whatever needle size, yarn type
and pattern you like, the only rule is that your knitted pieces need
to be a life-size. Please don’t worry about the quality of your
knitting and crochet, this event is all about having a go and
having fun!
Here’s a list of a few items that we’ll need for the PicKnit; we have a few patterns to get you started, but let your imagination run wild and create any item you would find at a picnic.
