Festival At The Edge (17.07.06)

Rose Larcombe (organiser) sent us this report:

"The Festival at the Edge event this weekend, which the BHKC supported was a tremendous success. I was able to cater for all comers, ranging in age from 4 1/2 to 70! Both sexes were well represented and everyone was extremely pleased with their new-found skill. Over the two days (10:30 till 5:30) I taught in excess of 40 people to knit / improve their skills. The 'Learn to Knit' event was one of the most highly praised and popular aspects of what is now quite large and thriving Festival. I've already had an invite for next year and applicants for improver and advanced technique classes!"

Bath Stitch 'n Bitch at Widcombe Rising: 18 June 2006 (03.07.06)

Long scarf running down Widcombe Hill
Stitch 'n Bitch knitting long scarf

Members of Bath Stitch 'n Bitch joined 'Widcombe Rising' to celebrate the survival of Widcombe from Brunel's railway building in Bath. Original plans were to incorporate Widcombe High Street into the railway development. Queen Victoria and Isambard Kingdom Brunel (courtesy of the Natural Theatre Company), opened the street party and Stitch 'n' Bitch stretched the longest scarf down Widcombe Hill. Some knitted onto the top end, some onto the bottom end and one brave member sat in the road, midway down, the hill and knitted onto the side of it. They took it in turns to retire for cream teas at the top end and later descended the hill to join in the flamenco dancing.
