You won't believe it's fiberglass (14.01.06)

Belleville News-Democrat, Illinois. See Yvette Kaiser-Smith's "Installations" exhibition at the Schmidt Art Center Illinois. Yvette uses a standard hook to crochet a continuous strand of fiberglass. She then hardens this fiberglass by applying a polyester resin.

New World Record (25.06.05)

Lisa Gentry from Chatham, Louisiana in USA has broken the Guinness World Record by her own count (25.06.05). Lisa has applied to the Guinness Book of Records to be a challenger for the title which currently stands at 147 crocheted stitches per minute. Barbara Jean Sonntag of Craig, Colo., has held the title as the undefeated Guinness champion since 1981.

Lisa crocheted 5112 stitches in 30 min. = 170 sts/min!
