Knitting At The National Village Show
on the BBC with Alan Titchmarsh
The village show is a national institution where members of the British public take huge pride in designing and showcasing the most creative knitwear alongside the tastiest vegetables and the most sumptuously decorated cakes.
The BBC and 12 Yard Productions are making a new TV programme which celebrates the traditional British Village Show and want to grab the attention of UK knitters! The search is on to find people to knit an adult garment that could be entered into one of the heats.
The show will be filmed at 6 locations throughout the UK this summer and will be presented by Alan Titchmarsh – each winner at the regional heat will receive a cash prize and will be invited to compete at the Grand Final at a high profile location at the end of September!
Regional heats are being held at the following venues:
South East: Sunday 23 July (Petworth House & Park, West Sussex), South West: Sunday 6 August (Montacute House, Somerset)
Central England: Sunday 27 August (Calke Abbey, Derbyshire), East England: Sunday 3 September (Wimpole Hall,Cambridgeshire)
Wales & The West: Sunday 17 Sepember (Dyffryn Gardens, nr. Cardiff), The North: Sunday 24 Sepember (Nostel Priory, West Yorkshire)
